Let's Talk About Vacation Mode

Summer is coming fast and the sun, heat, and crisp blue sky get the vacation vibes rolling!


Living a PFC3 lifestyle means we can live it anywhere, anytime, in any situation. 


Yes, including vacation! 


Living with food freedom is all about living a sustainable lifestyle, one that isn’t perfect but is consistent. One that incorporates balance and not “on” or “off.” 


Think about what a vacation is...it’s a time when you can see new things, meet new people, and get out of your regular life for a bit to refresh, recharge, and renew yourself. 


It doesn’t mean we throw out all aspects of our “regular life” out the window. We still brush our teeth and shower when we are on vacation, right?


 We probably even check our phones or emails a few times, so we aren’t so “behind” when we get back. 


So, why is it that when we are on vacation, we think that we can’t adopt a PFC3 approach, while STILL enjoying ourselves and NOT feeling deprived at all? 


If we can shower and brush our teeth on vacation, like at home, and don’t feel like we are missing out on a vacation experience, the same can be said for eating! 


It’s all about intentionality and recognizing just how simple it is to fuel our bodies while enjoying ourselves! 


While healthy may look different on vacation than at home, it doesn’t mean you are cheating or “off the wagon.” 


It just means you are showing up in a different way for yourself. It’s just as important and meaningful! 


And if you slip up and go against your intentions, just remember, no guilt, just data! 



1. Be Intentional – Set your intentions daily, before you go out.

2. Focus on New Adventures – Have fun and experience new healthy activities, maybe a massage, a hike or an awesome bike ride. 

3. Fuel Your Body - Remember that protein, fats, and carbs are what make up all food, so you can ALWAYS eat PFC3 anywhere! If you are eating 5-6 times a day, it’s so easy to fuel your body in a balanced way!

Enjoy every bite as you experience new foods and restaurants!
